  1. NV Amontillado, Bella Luna
    sherry

    NV Amontillado, Bella Luna

    (12x37.5cl)

Amber in colour with complex, intense, saline aromas of hazelnuts and bitter almonds. Bone-dry and goes on...and on...and on...

  2. 2014 Gavi Briccotondo, Fontanafredda

Lemons and minerals on the nose followed by a fresh palate with medium body and no oak.

  3. 2012 Kalkmergel Spätburgunder, Weingut Knipser

Quintessentially Pinot Noir nose, with aromatic crushed strawberries and a toasty note. Think Otago. Then the palate is more restrained with dry character, chalky acidity and a Burgundian silkiness to the tannins. Long finish, very balanced and elegant.

  4. 2012 Terre de Granit, Saint Joseph, Domaine Guy Farge

Dark ruby with minerally aromatics: stone, chalk and gun flint in a subtle interplay with pepper, tapenade and dense brambly fruit. Lovely mouthwatering acidity, smooth layers of fine tannins, medium body and long finish.

  5. 2013 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Michel Juillot

Light, fresh and mineral with juicy red fruit and light, fine-grained tannins.

  6. 2007 Vintage Fortified Shiraz, d'Arenberg

The nose starts with fine tobacco and dark chocolate mixed with dark fruits and lifted violets. The fine, low-strength brandy spirit plays a wonderful supporting role - selected for its 'tails' character, all juniper berries, spice and fruit and 'hearts' - roses and apricots and brings warmth and richness to the wine. The palate is fine and focussed due to the dry vintage conditions, dark plums, figs and nuts mingle with sandlewood and exotic spices. The tannins are chewy yet fine and there's a linear backbone of acidity to keep it all in check. The finish is long and layered, indicating a long life ahead for those with the patience to give this wine time in their cellar.

  7. 2012 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Domaine Jean Pillot

The intricate nose offers lime, pineapple, creamy vanilla and touches of hazelnut. There is a stylish balance between power and elegance on the palate with steely acidity pinioning the ripe pineapple and juicey peach flavours. There are gracefull touches of oak to be found here too, with dried nuts and honey adding complexity and lending their weight through the dry, crisp, flinty finish.

  8. 2013 Merlot Veneto, Le Vigne

    2013 Merlot Veneto, Le Vigne

    (6x75cl)

Elegant and velvety with soft rounded ripe plum fruit flavours and supple tannins. This exciting Merlot is bursting with flavours of cherries, almond, herbs and spice, yet is wonderfully well rounded and elegant.

  9. 2012 Arpeggio Nerello Mascalese, Settesoli

The Arpeggio Rosso is a medium bodied red with ripe fruit character, soft, well-rounded tannins and a concentrated finish.

  10. 2012 Ladies who shoot their Lunch Shiraz, Fowles Wine

A deep ripe mulberry colour, displaying glints of youthful purple at the rim. Intensely floral aromas of pepper and spice play with rich red fruits. Palate is full bodied and complex with silky tannins and a generous length of flavour.
