  1. 2013 Skaapveld Shiraz, MAN Family

Distinctive aromas of ripe plum and pepper spices, mouth-filling sweet red-berry flavours and gentle tannins characterize this wine. A touch of Viognier was co-fermented with the Shiraz for the aromatic lift it gives to the wine, which emphasises the berry fruit and spice aromas on the nose. The American oak barrels give a hint of vanilla spice and contribute to the smooth silky tannins.

  2. 2009 Leston Shiraz, Howard Park

Vibrant dark raspberry in colour with expansive aromas of poached dark-fleshed plums, blueberry muffins, star anise, violets and mocha. The palate is reminiscent of pane forte - exotic spices and ripe plums, red fruits and chewy tannins.

  3. 2012 Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet, Glaetzer

Enticing liquorice and fragrant herb notes on the nose, revealing hints of dark stone fruits and cassis with layers of roasted coffee beans. The key characteristic on the palate is the textural tannins that provide support for the supple yet restrained palate - finishing with freshness, purity and length.

A rich, dark, cherry red wine with great colour density. The wine displays aromas of black pepper spice, ripe plum compote, five spice powder and toasty oak. This full-bodied wine is driven by concentrated fruit flavours of chocolate and black cherries, subtle savoury textures and fine, soft tannins.

    2014 Rosé, Stormy Cape

    (6x75cl)

Stormy Cape sources grapes from the best vineyards from South Africa’s famed Western Cape. Made from 100% Shiraz, this is an easy-drinking Rosé bursting with ripe summer fruits, and has a juicy, natural sweetness balanced by a refreshing edge.

  6. 2011 d'Arry's Original Shiraz Grenache, d'Arenberg

This wine displays a level of finesse and freshness that we don’t always encounter in other vintages of the same wine. In a somewhat surprising contrast to this, the wine also displays a dense and varied array of fruit characters, from bright lifted purple plums and rhubarb through to more spice and herbal notes such as sage and cardamom, into even more complex earthy flavours of beetroot and soot.
These flavours are perfectly supported by a frame of fine, minerally tannins that add a subtle grip and enticingly long finish.

  7. 2010 The Laughing Magpie, d'Arenberg

The wine has an enticing mix of primary fruit characters entwined with the first hints of moreish secondary nuances.
There is an enormous concentration of blackberry and blackcurrant on the nose and palate, a whiff of flowers, ginger and stone fruit that we can attribute to the Viognier and depth is built through more savoury notes of fennel, fresh leather and cedar.

  8. 2009 The Dead Arm Shiraz, d'Arenberg

Dark fruit and savoury characters leap from the glass, in particular there is liquorice and blackberry, laced with a hint of char.
Complexity in the shape of iodine and soil like notes follow. The wine is powerful and structured.
There is a plethora of sweet fruit character, plums and mulberries, but not a hint of fatness. Rather the wine is quite compact and focused.
A powerful yet refined expression of Shiraz with balance, complexity and persistence.

  9. 2010 The Love Grass Shiraz, d'Arenberg

The wine displays a mix of fruit and spice, a result of the myriad of minor varieties that cling to the bones of the Shiraz and draw it in all sorts of different directions.
Fresh and lively, black and red fruits, pepper, clove and cinnamon.
The palate, whilst showing the poise and focus common amongst the 2011’s, develops its richness in the glass.
Ensure you take a moment to savour this wine and watch its complex mix of fruits evolve from tight and linear at first to rich, dark and exotic.

  10. 2011 The Footbolt Shiraz, d'Arenberg

The nose is incredibly lifted and fragrant, red fruits and peppery spices feature strongly. As the wine breathes we are struck by a raft of darker and more earthy aromas such as mulberry, black plum, soot and baking spice.
The palate is pleasantly bright with lively acidity and elegant fruit weight. A generous dose of mineral fruit tannin ensures the wine is structured and wonderfully long.
As this wine ages it will develop more generosity and complexity through the mid palate, but the acid and tannin structure will ensure it stays lively and long.
