Ruby red colour with a persistent, particularly intense bouquet. The palate is well structured, offering an array of rich berry, cassis and spicey flavours alongside its textured, well integrated tannins which encourage the lengthy finish with a good grip.

  2. 2008 Rioja Crianza, Marqués de Arienzo

This outstandingly reliable wine offers spicy aromas of sweet red berries, a rounded, lush palate and a firm finish. Its balance of acidity; soft tannins and ripe red fruits gives it universal appeal.

  3. 2011 Cotes Du Rhone Rouge, Le Pas de la Beaume, Cave de Cairanne

Engaging aromas of red fruit, garrigue and spices. Medium bodied and supple with a generous amount of succulently textured ripe forest fruit, fine grained, soft structure and a clean, moreish finish.

  4. 2007 Terra Rossa Cabernet Sauvignon, Parker Estate

Deep crimson red in colour, with some purple highlights. The nose is extremely complex with cool vintage fruit characters of black olive and prune, combined with sweet earth and truffle notes. The palate is sweet and dense with a super fleshy mouth feel and dense dark fruit flavours of cedar, prune, cassis and liquorice. The finish is very long with a firm finish.

  5. 2009 Amarone Classico, Acinatico DOC, Accordini

Deep garnet in the glass with an intense black cherry and vanilla bouquet. On the palate it is full bodied, rich and creamy with smooth tannins. At 16% alcohol, it should really be a monster; in reality it is fantastically balanced with a minerality which keeps it fresh and dangerously moreish.
