A powerful wine, with an elegant bouquet with delicate hits of oak.

The nose is complex, mingling fruit with roasted aromas. Smooth, ample, generous upfront, not a hint of aggression, opens onto classy tannins.

  3. 2008 Château Tayac, Cru Bourgeois, Margaux

Made in the classic 'Claret' style, medium bodied and dry, with a firm palate comprising dark forest fruits, hints of wood complexity and spices and a well integrated, finely grained tannin structure which adds breadth and length. 4. 2011 Château Haut Pezat, Grand Cru, St. Emilion

Hints of ripe plums and damsons on the nose and on the palate. It is rich and velvety, with soft tannin and a long elegant finish.

  5. 2012 Château La Tuilerie des Combes, Lussac St. Emilion

Beautifully developed garnet-red in colour. Shows a very ripe nose of concentrated fruits of the forest and a dense palate reminiscent of black cherries and chocolate with pretty notes of liquorice and eucalyptus. The typicaly bordelaise structure is flexible, with soft, rounded tannins that bring a balance and add length to the palate which finishes dry and clean.

    2008 Château d'Issan, Margaux

    (12x75cl)

Currently extremely youthful with a dark ruby/purple colour, as well as a sweet nose of cassis and spring flowers. Although this wine will never be muscular or exceptionally concentrated, it overdelivers with a stylish, elegant, and well crafted harmony among its structural components.

  9. 2009 Château Plaisance, Grand Cru, St Emilion

Deep ruby in the glass with concentrated black fruit and oak aromas. On the palate, the wine is powerful, with classy wood treatment and a wonderfully rich, sensuous structure and a long finish. Watchwords are accessibility, concentration and supple balance.

  10. 2011 Château Bertinat Lartigue, Saint Emilion

Gorgeously deep ruby colour, the wine boasts red fruit and a supple, rounded mouthfeel, and will hit its peak after 2-3 years in bottle. A classic Saint Emilion.
