  1. 2009 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre, Domaine de Vauroux

Brillant wine, mineral and frank in taste. Although its nose is a little closed-in, the wine has an important richness and enough of complexity. Due to its acidity, it has very good aptitudes for ageing. Its suppleness and freshness go along with a powerful bouquet of citrus fruits.

  2. 2011 Puligny Montrachet, Domaine Jean Louis Chavy

An elegant yet full bodied style with citrus and honey aromas, which are echoed on the palate and complemented by a touch of toasty oak, underpinned by fresh acidity.

  3. 2011 Gevrey Chambertin, La Gibryotte, Famille Dugat

A refined, medium bodied wine with a beautiful bright ruby colour. Dense wild blackberry fruit, licquorice and nutmeg flavours explode on the palate like a firework. The woody character is subtle and marries well with the other aromas and flavours.

  4. 2011 Meursault Poruzot 1er Cru, Domaine Jobard-Morey

Very fine, subtle oak and vanilla cream with underlying flintiness and fresh ripe-pear fruit. Plenty of richness and body, but this is held in check by a constant thread of minerality running through the middle. Just when you expect the flavours to fade on the finish, they do the opposite and reach a glorious, complex crescendo. Magnificent.

  5. 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons, Domaine Bernard Defaix

There is a deft touch of wood surrounding the white orchard fruit and honeysuckle aromas that have glimpses of oyster shell poking through. The rich, forward and relatively generous flavours possess a seductive mouth feel and excellent complexity on the dry for the vintage finish. This should age well for the medium term.

  6. 2012 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Michel Juillot

Light, fresh and mineral with juicy red fruit and light, fine-grained tannins.

  7. 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet, Joseph Drouhin

A generous wine of texture and finesse. Gingerbread.

  8. 2004 Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers, Dom. Fernand Lecheneaut

Wonderfully ripe and packed with generous aromas of redcurrants, spicy blackberries and touches of flinty mineral notes. The palate is intense and concentrated but showing a beguiling balance between structure, fruit and new oak. Firm, lengthy finish, superb for food pairing.

  9. 2009 Meursault, 1er Cru Les Charmes, Maison Henri Boillot

Minerals, citrus and understated ripe tropical fruits are found on the nose. Shows a clean and lifted palate with pineapple, peach and pear fruit and spicey vanilla alongside limey acidity on the elegant and very lengthy finish.

  10. 2010 Rully 1er Cru Rabourcé, Domaine Jaeger-Defaix

A real success for this fine wine, with some pine, lemon and soft aromas showing through. The palate keeps on and on and evolves with a great depth.
