  1. 2008 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques, Domaine Harmand Geoffroy

Precision and purity of fruit mingles with more savoury, herbal, Burgundian aromas on the nose. Soft initially in the mouth, progressing to much more concentration and grip as the palate develops. Slightly youthful tannin on the finish but marvellous finesse of fruit. Benefits from decanting to enjoy now and over the next five years.

  2. 2010 Colheita Tinto - A Descoberta, Casa da Passarella

Great elegance and balance. Ripe red fruit.

  3. 2004 Rioja 150th Anniversary Gran Reserva, Riscal

Marqués de Riscal 150 Aniversario is a dark-cherry coloured wine with brick red hues. Its aroma is complex and balsamic, with burnt wood and hints of spices such as black pepper and cinnamon. It has an oily mouth-feel, with good backbone and concentration of tannins, round and supple with a long, silky finish.

  4. 2005 Rioja Gran Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

Aromas of sun-dried fruit combine with hints of vanilla on the nose. Sweet and savoury sensations fill the mouth, leaving behind a touch of caramel and wild cherries on the finish. Velvety tannins add balance and texture.

  5. 2012 Sincronia Negre (Mantenegro, Callet, Syrah), Mesquida Mora

The nose is lead by forest fruits with earthy notes and subtle touch of toast and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of up-front fresh fruit – redcurrant, blackberry and raspberry.

  6. 2012 Crozes Hermitage, Cuvée Laurent, Domaine Combier

Almost opaque with a purple hue, this is classic syrah from the Northern Rhone. Rich and spicy on the nose with an underlying savoury quality, the palate is rich and spicy too,
with ripe approachable tannins. The finish is long, smooth and velvety.

  7. 2013 Shiraz Cabernet, Mullygrubber, Warburn Estate

The Shiraz Cabernet blend is an Australian classic, delivering an approachable and easily enjoyable style. Generous red and black fruit aromas precede a soft and supple palate packed with blackberry and cherry flavours with hints of spice. Finishing smooth and rounded, this is ideal as a partner to pizza, pasta and red meat and is fruit forward enough to be a satisfying drink by itself.

  8. 2011 Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge, Omero

This Pinot is very aromatic and texture driven. It has a spicy dark red fruit and floral nose of candied violets, black plum, fresh earth and sandalwood, with a palate of cassis, dark cherry and baking spices on the long and delicate finish.

  9. 2012 Petit Cabernet Merlot, Ken Forrester Wines

A youthful, fresh Bordeaux-styled blend showing plums and spiciness. Very accessible with a smooth and balanced texture.

  10. 2011 Maudes Crianza (Tempranillo, Merlot), Lezcano Lacalle

The wine is a deep cherry colour with prominent legs. The nose bursts full of black fruit, currants and blackberries with a spicy toasty edge. The palate is round and long with firm, silky tannins.
