  1. 2011 Ferrous Pinot Noir, Kooyong

A darker and more restrained nose than the Meres. Rather than a panoply of mixed fruits, this is more dense and complex, with smoked meats, blueberry, ironstone, black olive, and a touch of Chinese five spice. A singular style with an exciting range of flavours. Tannins are quite firm on the back palate at the moment, and will soften with age.

  2. 2012 Unravelled Pinot Noir, Carrick Winery

Ripe berries and black cherries on the nose which transfer onto the palate with a hint of oak.
Finely balanced, fruit forward styled wine.

  3. 2012 Sutherland Pinot Noir, Thelema

The wine is light and clean, with earthy wild strawberry and raspberry flavours, and a perfumed and elegant finish.

  4. 2011 Beaune 1er Cru Les Theurons, Domaine Régis Rossignol Changarnier

Transparent red colour. Musky, chocolaty fruit; slightly mature-smelling. Real development of fruit aroma in the glass over time. On the palate, sweet, delicate fruit, slightly gamey. Excellent length, subtle fruit, light tannin.

  5. NV Cordon Rouge Brut, Mumm

    NV Cordon Rouge Brut, Mumm

    (6x75cl)

Bright white gold in colour with a fine and consistent perlage and a clean, subtle nose. The palate is packed with rich yellow peach and apricot flavours with subtle hints of toasted nuts, yeast and hints of vanilla. Finishes elegant, lengthy and dry.

  6. 2009 Victoria Rosé, Ridgeview

    2009 Victoria Rosé, Ridgeview

    (6x75cl)

A delicate pale salmon in colour, with a fruitful nose that hints of honey and toast. The Pinot Noir brings subtle red berry flavours to the palate with satisfying fullness and length.

  7. 2010 Gevrey Chambertin En Jouise, Domaine Harmand Geoffroy

The nose at present is fairly typical earthy Burgundian Pinot. It's on the palate, however that the wine's class really shows. Superb richness, freshness and juiciness of fruit. Soft-textured, with great persistence of flavour. Yum! Benefits from decanting.

  8. 2011 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru, Domaine Jacques Prieur

Well-focused, with toasty, smoky blackberry and blueberry aromas. Concentrated, fresh, fruity, succulent and spicy palate. Delicious, mouth-watering middle palate. Aftertaste showing fresh, beautifully rich, ripe, fine and digestible tannin. Incredible ageing potential but also unbelievably delicious when young.

  9. 2012 Pinot Noir Réserve, Trimbach

The wine is light and herby on the palate with vibrant strawberry and cherry flavours. Round and structured, the more intense, vegetal characters will develop with bottle age in place of the primary red fruit flavours. The wine is medium bodied and has perfect, soft tannin. A classic expression of Alsace Pinot noir, traditionally served chilled.

  10. 2009 Aloxe Corton, Domaine Maillard Père et Fils

An opulent and ripe, red wine with flavours of strawberry fruit. Wonderfully expressive and powerful in the mouth it finishes with soft silky tannins and an animal richness so typical of Pinot Noir.
