  1. 2013 Jacques Véritier Blanc, Vin de France

Aromatic on the nose with hints of green apples and Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. On the palate it has good weight of fruit and beautifully balanced acidity that gives the wine a long, fresh, crisp finish.

  2. 2012 Comtesse de Ségur, Montravel Sec , Vignoble Dubard

This white wine, fermented and aged in french barrels, offers intense aromas of pine resin, fresh melon and grilled almonds. A lively attack leads into a full flavoured, powerful mid palate where the velvety texture gives a wonderful depth to this wine.

  3. NV Bas Armagnac V.S.O.P. (min 10 yrs old), Castarede

Amber core with a bronze rim; shows mellow walnut, warm spices, cocoa and prunes on the nose. Mellow attack on the palate, but not cloying thanks to a delicious freshness and texture.

  4. 2013 Longue Roche Sauvignon Blanc, IGP Côtes de Gascogne

Vibrant and zesty, with the classic sauvignon nose of gooseberries and a hint of tropical fruit on the light bodied, crisp, unoaked palate.

  5. 2013 Château Laulerie Sauvignon, Bergerac, Vignoble Dubard

On the nose, this white wine combines gooseberry, exotic fruit and peach. The palate is rich and generous, with a fresh, tasty finish and a fruity after-taste.

  6. 2013 Escale Pinot Noir, Vin de France

The very lightly oaked Escale Pinot Noir is elegant and fruity, displaying all the hallmarks of the Pinot grape with hints of raspberries on the nose and silky tannin structure on the palate.

  7. 2013 Pinard Cuvée Classique Blanc, Domaine Vigné-Lourac

A light, crisp blend from Alain Gayrel made with fresh, vibrant grape varieties. This is an excellent aperitif wine, that will also match gracefully light dishes such as chicken salads. Excellent value for money, and a wine that very much over-delivers on its name (Pinard is the French name for 'plonk'!).

  8. 2012 Chateau Bovila Malbec, Cahors

Deep ruby colour with aromas of currants and candied peel. Powerful, but well integrated, tannins, fresh minerality and lively Assam and redcurrant notes. Clean and modern.

  9. 2012 Braucol, Domaine Vigné-Lourac

Almost opaque ruby colour; blackberry nose; dry palate with balance of sweet-tasting fruit and soft, complex tannins; has layers of smoky, spicy, berry flavours. Sounds like an anonymous "modern" wine? Not at all, this has a hint of terroir rusticity which adds character.

  10. 2013 La Lande Cinsault Rosé, Vin de Pays d'Oc

With an attractive pale pink colour, this is a light and refreshing rosé from the Languedoc region of Southern France. Cinsault lends itself particularly well to the production of rosés, and this dry, unoaked example can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a wide range of Mediterranean dishes.
